I am Jeffrey Böhm, an independent technology consultant based in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. For more than 15 years I have worked where knowledge, systems and people need to meet. Today I help organisations turn scattered knowledge into systems that hold up in daily work, and integrate AI into grown, regulated system landscapes so that it demonstrably works and remains accountable.

I started as a software engineer in e-commerce and enterprise software. Six of those years I spent in digital agencies, developing systems for an insurer, hotel chains, confectionery and caravan manufacturers, a wine retailer and a careers portal, usually connected to logistics, customer care and controlling. That is where I learned to judge a system by what it does for revenue and effort, not by its technology. I then moved into architecture and technical leadership and have been working independently for several years. Part of that work took place in regulated environments: health insurance, public administration and public transport with critical infrastructure requirements.

I am independent in a verifiable way: no product partnerships, no commissions, no implementation work inside an advisory mandate. I deliver written results, work in clearly scoped engagements, and never recommend an AI use case without a named human control step.

I run what I recommend. My own knowledge lives in an AI-assisted system with agents that prepare meeting notes, timesheets and bookkeeping, each with a control step. I also maintain [docker-mailserver](https://github.com/jeboehm/docker-mailserver/), an open-source project used in production by hundreds of organisations worldwide.
